Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Corega Tabs Anti-bacteria is an effervescent denture cleansing tablet developed by GSK Consumer Healthcare. It is designed to remove stains and eliminate 99.9% of odor-causing bacteria and fungi, specifically targeting *Candida albicans*, from removable acrylic dentures. The formulation typically includes oxidizing agents such as sodium perborate and potassium monopersulfate, which release active oxygen to provide antimicrobial action and mechanical cleaning through effervescence. By reducing the microbial load and biofilm formation on dentures, the product helps prevent and manage denture stomatitis, an inflammatory condition of the oral mucosa common in denture wearers. In clinical research conducted by Universitaire Ziekenhuizen KU Leuven, it has been used as a standard-of-care comparator to evaluate the efficacy of probiotic-based cleaners.
