Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CORTAREN is a combination corticosteroid and anti-inflammatory system provided as a convenience kit. It contains two distinct corticosteroids: dexamethasone sodium phosphate, which provides rapid anti-inflammatory action, and triamcinolone acetonide (Kenalog-40), which offers an extended duration of effect over several weeks. The kit also includes bupivacaine hydrochloride (Marcaine), a local anesthetic that blocks nerve impulse generation and conduction to provide localized pain relief, and isopropyl alcohol, which serves as an antiseptic for site preparation. This combination is indicated for intramuscular and intra-articular administration to treat a broad spectrum of inflammatory, allergic, and autoimmune disorders, including rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, severe psoriasis, and various endocrine and hematologic conditions.
