Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Corticosterone is an adrenocortical steroid hormone with modest but significant activities as both a mineralocorticoid and a glucocorticoid. It is naturally produced in the adrenal cortex of vertebrates and plays roles in metabolic regulation and anti-inflammatory responses. Corticosterone participates in corticosteroid receptor-mediated anti-inflammatory responses and contributes to metabolic and homeostatic processes. It also plays a role in maintaining intraocular pressure by regulating aqueous humor secretion[2][7].
