Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Corvita 150 is a prescription-strength hematinic combination product developed and marketed by Trigen Laboratory. It is primarily indicated for the treatment and prevention of iron deficiency anemia and associated nutritional deficiencies, such as those involving folic acid and vitamin B12. The formulation contains 150 mg of elemental iron in the form of carbonyl iron, which is chosen for its high iron content and lower toxicity profile compared to ferrous salts. To optimize therapeutic outcomes, the supplement includes ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) to facilitate intestinal iron absorption, as well as folic acid and cyanocobalamin (Vitamin B12) to support erythropoiesis and address potential megaloblastic anemia components.
