Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Corymbia sap resin is a botanical investigational compound derived from the sap resin (kino) of trees in the *Corymbia* genus, which is closely related to *Eucalyptus*. Developed by Integria Healthcare (Australia) Pty Ltd, it is being evaluated for the treatment of diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-D). The resin is traditionally known for its high tannin content, which provides astringent properties that may help reduce intestinal secretions and improve stool consistency. Clinical development has included a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial (ACTRN12618000415235) to assess the oral safety and tolerability of the resin in healthy adult volunteers.
