Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Cosamin DS is a premium joint health dietary supplement developed and manufactured by Nutramax Laboratories. It contains a specific combination of high-purity ingredients: FCHG49 glucosamine hydrochloride, TRH122 low molecular weight sodium chondroitin sulfate, and manganese ascorbate. This formulation is designed to support joint comfort and mobility by promoting the synthesis of the cartilage matrix and inhibiting enzymes that contribute to cartilage breakdown, such as matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and aggrecanases (ADAMTS). Cosamin DS has been extensively studied in clinical research, most notably as a comparator in the NIH-sponsored Glucosamine/chondroitin Arthritis Intervention Trial (GAIT), and is widely used for the management of knee osteoarthritis symptoms.
