Cosibelimab-ipdl is a human immunoglobulin G1 (IgG1) monoclonal antibody that targets and blocks programmed death ligand-1 (PD-L1), an immune checkpoint protein expressed on some cancer cells. By binding to PD-L1, cosibelimab-ipdl prevents its interaction with the PD-1 and B7.1 receptors on T cells and antigen-presenting cells, thereby releasing the inhibitory effects of PD-L1 on anti-tumor immune responses. This action enables the immune system to recognize and attack cancer cells more effectively. Cosibelimab-ipdl has also demonstrated antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC) in vitro due to its functional Fc domain. It is primarily indicated for adults with metastatic or locally advanced cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (CSCC) who are not candidates for curative surgery or radiation therapy[2][3][4][5][8].
