Cosolv-DX

Cosolv-DX is a combination pharmaceutical formulation marketed by the Indian company Emblazon Life Sciences for the symptomatic relief of dry cough and upper respiratory symptoms associated with the common cold or allergic rhinitis. It contains three active ingredients: dextromethorphan hydrobromide, chlorpheniramine maleate, and phenylephrine hydrochloride. Dextromethorphan is a centrally acting antitussive that suppresses the cough reflex by elevating the cough threshold in the brain. Chlorpheniramine is a first-generation antihistamine that blocks H1 receptors to alleviate allergic symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, and watery eyes. Phenylephrine is a sympathomimetic decongestant that acts as an alpha-1 adrenergic agonist, causing vasoconstriction in the nasal mucosa to reduce congestion and swelling.
