Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CoTend-BXBB is an investigational viral vector-based COVID-19 booster vaccine developed by Tendel Therapies. It utilizes an Adenovirus type 35 (Ad35) vector to deliver the genetic sequence for the Receptor Binding Domain (RBD) of the SARS-CoV-2 XBB.1.5 variant. The vaccine is designed as an immunostimulant to induce protective immunity against COVID-19. It is currently being evaluated in the Phase 1/2a CONTENDER clinical trial, which compares its safety and immunogenicity to a modified version, CoTend-s3BXBB, which incorporates a T follicular helper (TFH)-targeting strategy to enhance the breadth and durability of the immune response.
