CoTx-101

CoTx-101 is an investigational gene therapy developed by Coave Therapeutics for the treatment of retinal vascular diseases, including wet age-related macular degeneration (wAMD) and diabetic macular edema (DME). It utilizes Coave's proprietary ligand-conjugated AAV vector (coAAV-SCS) delivered via the suprachoroidal space to achieve deep retinal penetration and broad tissue coverage. The therapy is designed to provide sustained expression of two clinically validated biologics that inhibit the angiogenesis pathway, specifically targeting vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). By enabling long-term production of anti-angiogenic factors within the eye, CoTx-101 aims to provide a durable alternative to the frequent intravitreal injections required by current anti-VEGF standards of care.
