Drug intelligence / Profile preview
COVAX-19 + influenza vaccine is a combination mucosal vaccine developed by Vaxine Pty Ltd to provide simultaneous protection against SARS-CoV-2 and seasonal influenza. The vaccine utilizes a protein subunit platform, combining a recombinant SARS-CoV-2 spike protein (COVAX-19) with an inactivated seasonal influenza vaccine. A key feature of this candidate is its formulation with Vaxine's proprietary Advax-CpG55.2 adjuvant, which is based on delta inulin (a polysaccharide) and a CpG oligonucleotide. Designed for sublingual (under the tongue) administration, the vaccine aims to elicit both systemic and mucosal immune responses, potentially providing a more effective barrier against respiratory transmission than traditional intramuscular injections. The vaccine is being co-developed in partnership with Prestige Biopharma and is currently undergoing Phase 1 clinical evaluation.
