Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CoVepiT is a next-generation, multi-target, multi-variant peptide-based vaccine candidate developed to prevent COVID-19. It is designed to induce a robust CD8+ T-cell-mediated immune response by targeting multiple immunodominant epitopes from 11 different SARS-CoV-2 proteins—including Spike (S), Membrane (M), Nucleocapsid (N), and several non-structural proteins. These epitopes were selected using artificial intelligence algorithms after screening over 67,000 global SARS-CoV-2 genomes and those of previous human-infective coronaviruses (SARS and MERS) to ensure broad coverage against both initial and emerging variants with low mutation rates. The vaccine aims to provide long-term cellular immunity through the generation of memory T cells, particularly in barrier tissues such as the respiratory tract and lungs. CoVepiT was developed using OSE Immunotherapeutics’ proprietary Memopi technology[1][3][5][7]. Clinical development has focused on populations at risk for severe COVID-19 or poor antibody responses.
