Drug intelligence / Profile preview
COVI-MSC (OQORY) is an investigational allogeneic adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) therapy developed by Sorrento Therapeutics, originally licensed from Personalized Stem Cells, Inc. (PSC). The therapy is designed to treat inflammatory lung conditions, including COVID-19-induced acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), non-COVID-19 ARDS, and post-COVID-19 "long haul" pulmonary compromise. COVI-MSC works by modulating the immune response to reduce systemic inflammation and promote tissue repair, potentially mitigating the cytokine storm associated with severe respiratory distress. It is administered intravenously and has progressed into Phase 2 and Phase 3 clinical trials.
