Drug intelligence / Profile preview
COVID-19 CBD Sol-Gel is a nasal sol-gel formulation of cannabidiol (CBD) being developed by PreveCeutical Medical Inc. for the prevention and treatment of COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2). The product utilizes a proprietary sol-gel technology that transitions from a liquid to a gel upon contact with the nasal mucosa, enabling sustained release of CBD for up to seven days. This delivery system is designed to provide direct action at the site of viral entry, leveraging CBD's anti-inflammatory properties and its potential to inhibit SARS-CoV-2 infection of nasal tissues while bypassing first-pass metabolism. The program is currently in the preclinical stage, with clinical trial planning underway in collaboration with the clinical research organization Veristat.
