Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The COVID-19-Influenza Combination (CIC) vaccine is an investigational protein-based combination vaccine developed by Novavax. It combines the company's recombinant protein-based COVID-19 vaccine (NVX-CoV2373) with its quadrivalent nanoparticle influenza vaccine candidate into a single formulation. The vaccine utilizes Novavax's proprietary recombinant nanoparticle technology to produce hemagglutinin (HA) antigens for four influenza strains and the spike (S) protein antigen for SARS-CoV-2. It is formulated with the patented saponin-based Matrix-M adjuvant to enhance the immune response. Designed for intramuscular administration and stored at standard refrigeration temperatures (2-8°C), the vaccine aims to provide simultaneous protection against both seasonal influenza and COVID-19.
