Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**COVID-19 XWG-03** is a preclinical recombinant protein subunit vaccine candidate developed by Xiamen Innovax Biotech with Xiamen University for prevention of COVID-19. It was designed around multiple truncated forms of the SARS-CoV-2 spike glycoprotein, which were to be screened for immunogenicity to select a lead antigen. In April 2020, GSK agreed to provide its pandemic adjuvant system for preclinical evaluation, intended to strengthen antigen-specific immune responses and reduce the protein antigen dose required per vaccination. Publicly available reporting does not identify clinical trials or a subsequent clinical-stage program for this candidate.
