Overview

COVID-globulin is a specific human hyperimmune immunoglobulin developed by JSC NPO Microgen (a subsidiary of Natsibio, part of Rostec) for the treatment of COVID-19. It is a polyclonal antibody preparation derived from the blood plasma of donors who have recovered from SARS-CoV-2 infection. The medication contains a concentrated solution of neutralizing antibodies (not less than 160 anti-COVID units/mL) that specifically target and neutralize the SARS-CoV-2 virus, preventing its entry into host cells and reducing the viral load. It is administered via intravenous infusion and is primarily indicated for patients with moderate to severe forms of the disease to prevent progression to more critical stages. It was registered by the Russian Ministry of Health in 2021 as a specific therapy for patients aged 18 to 60.
