Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Covigenix VAX-001 is a novel plasmid DNA-based vaccine developed to prevent COVID-19. It encodes the full-length Spike (S) protein of SARS-CoV-2 and is delivered using a proprietary Fusogenix proteo-lipid vehicle (PLV) platform. This technology enables efficient delivery of the DNA into cells, where it stimulates both humoral and cell-mediated immune responses against the virus. The vaccine has demonstrated safety and immunogenicity in preclinical studies and early-phase clinical trials. It offers advantages such as stability at room temperature for one month and at 4–8°C for up to one year, simplifying storage and distribution logistics[1][5][7].
