Overview
**CP-4055 + sorafenib** is an experimental combination therapy comprising two investigational and approved agents: CP-4055 (elacytarabine) and sorafenib. CP-4055 (elacytarabine) is a lipid-conjugated derivative of cytarabine, designed to overcome resistance mechanisms in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and possibly other cancers. It works by enabling better cellular uptake and cytotoxic activity against cancer cells[3][5]. Sorafenib is a small molecule multikinase inhibitor approved for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and other cancers; it inhibits tumor cell proliferation and angiogenesis through blockade of Raf/MEK/ERK pathway and receptor tyrosine kinases such as VEGFR and PDGFR[4]. The combination is under experimental or investigational study, and not an approved product, intended to harness the cytotoxic effects of CP-4055 and the antiangiogenic and antiproliferative effects of sorafenib for potential synergy in hematologic malignancies or solid tumors.
