Overview

CP-870,893 + paclitaxel + carboplatin is a **combination therapy** of a fully human monoclonal antibody (CP-870,893, also known as Selicrelumab or RO7009789) targeting CD40, with the chemotherapeutic agents paclitaxel and carboplatin. CP-870,893 acts as a CD40 agonist, activating antigen-presenting cells and facilitating immune responses against tumors, as well as directly inducing apoptosis and immune modulation in CD40-positive malignancies. Paclitaxel is a microtubule-stabilizing chemotherapy drug disrupting cell division, while carboplatin is a platinum-based DNA-damaging agent inducing tumor cell death. The combination has been evaluated primarily in patients with advanced solid tumors—including melanoma, ovarian cancer, pancreatic cancer, and renal cell carcinoma—to assess safety, pharmacodynamics, and preliminary antitumor efficacy.
