Overview

CP-A is an inulin-type fructan derived from Codonopsis pilosula. It has been found to have therapeutic effects on ulcerative colitis (UC) and colitis-associated cancer (CAC). In preclinical studies, CP-A combined with 5-Fluorouracil demonstrated efficacy in CAC by inhibiting the EGFR/AKT/ERK signaling pathway and regulating intestinal flora, leading to restored body weight, fewer and smaller tumors, reduced disease activity, and increased anti-inflammatory cytokines while decreasing pro-inflammatory ones. It also promoted apoptosis of cancer cells.
