Overview

CP-ICG is a near-infrared (NIR) fluorescent molecular probe used as a non-targeting control in preclinical imaging research. It consists of a control peptide (CP) conjugated to the fluorophore Indocyanine Green (ICG). In studies of ovarian cancer metastases, CP-ICG serves as a comparator to evaluate the specific targeting efficiency of ligand-directed probes, such as the Trop2-targeted TP-ICG. By providing a measure of non-specific probe accumulation and background signal, CP-ICG allows researchers to quantify the signal-to-background ratio (SBR) improvements achieved by targeted imaging agents in the NIR-II window. It is primarily used in mouse models to establish baseline fluorescence levels during real-time intraoperative tumor boundary assessment and metastatic foci visualization.
