Overview

CP-PCA07 is an oral, bio-enhanced formulation of niclosamide developed by Hyundai Bioscience using its proprietary drug delivery technology. This technology is designed to overcome the naturally poor bioavailability of niclosamide, enabling therapeutic systemic concentrations. CP-PCA07 is primarily being investigated for the treatment of castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC), particularly in combination with androgen receptor signaling inhibitors like enzalutamide. Its mechanism of action involves the inhibition and degradation of the androgen receptor splice variant 7 (AR-V7), a truncated form of the androgen receptor that remains constitutively active and is a major driver of resistance to standard hormonal therapies. Additionally, niclosamide has been shown to inhibit the STAT3 signaling pathway, which further contributes to its anti-tumor activity in prostate cancer models.
