Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CP107 is a long-acting injectable formulation of octreotide, a synthetic cyclic octapeptide and somatostatin analog, being developed by Consegna Pharma. The drug utilizes a proprietary delivery technology to provide a sustained release over a 90-day period, significantly extending the dosing interval compared to standard long-acting formulations. CP107 acts as an agonist at somatostatin receptors, particularly SSTR2 and SSTR5, which leads to the inhibition of growth hormone (GH) and insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) secretion, as well as the suppression of various gastrointestinal and pancreatic hormones. It is currently in preclinical development for the treatment of acromegaly and carcinoid syndrome associated with neuroendocrine tumors.
