CP2 is a neuroprotective small molecule that targets mitochondria. It has demonstrated the ability to rescue mitochondrial dysfunction and associated Alzheimer's Disease (AD)-like transcriptomic changes in preclinical models. Specifically, CP2 treatment has been shown to augment mitochondrial biogenesis, mitochondrial turnover, synaptic activity, autophagy, and redox balance, while also reducing inflammation.
