Overview

The CpG 1018-adjuvanted Lyme disease vaccine is a prophylactic vaccine candidate being developed by Dynavax Technologies to prevent Lyme disease. It utilizes Dynavax's proprietary CpG 1018 adjuvant, a Toll-like receptor 9 (TLR9) agonist, to enhance the immune response against antigens derived from *Borrelia burgdorferi*, the primary pathogen responsible for Lyme disease. By stimulating the innate immune system through TLR9, the vaccine aims to induce robust and durable protective immunity. As of late 2025, the program is in the IND-enabling phase of development.
