Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CpG 1018-adjuvanted plague vaccine is a recombinant protein subunit vaccine candidate being developed by Dynavax in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD). The vaccine is designed to provide protection against plague, a severe infectious disease caused by the bacterium *Yersinia pestis*. It combines a recombinant F1-V (rF1V) fusion protein antigen with Dynavax's proprietary CpG 1018 adjuvant. CpG 1018 is a Toll-like receptor 9 (TLR9) agonist that enhances the immune response by mimicking bacterial DNA, thereby stimulating both innate and adaptive immunity. The program is currently in Phase 2 clinical development, aimed at providing a more effective and stable alternative to older plague vaccines for military and public health preparedness.
