CPG201 is a preclinical-stage gene therapy candidate being developed by Alephoson Biotherapeutics for the treatment of Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP). The drug utilizes Alephoson's proprietary Cell-Penetrating Gene (CPG) platform, which employs a non-viral, peptide-based delivery system to transport therapeutic genetic material into retinal cells. This approach is designed to overcome the limitations associated with traditional viral vectors, such as adeno-associated virus (AAV), by potentially reducing immunogenicity and allowing for the delivery of larger genetic payloads.
