CPSI-2705 is a small molecule oral inhibitor of macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF), a proinflammatory cytokine that regulates tumor suppressor proteins and promotes angiogenesis and invasion in various cancers. Developed by Cytokine PharmaSciences, CPSI-2705 has been evaluated in preclinical murine models of invasive bladder cancer, where it demonstrated the ability to reduce tumor burden, stage, and grade, as well as decrease tumor-associated angiogenesis. The compound is designed to disrupt MIF-mediated signaling, which is often upregulated in malignant tissues and contributes to an immunosuppressive and pro-growth tumor microenvironment.
