CPT-022 is a preclinical small molecule therapeutic being developed by Mercaptor Discoveries for the treatment of central nervous system (CNS) and neurological disorders. It specifically targets the vesicular glutamate transporter (VGLUT), a protein responsible for loading glutamate into synaptic vesicles. By modulating VGLUT activity, CPT-022 aims to regulate excitatory neurotransmission, which is often dysregulated in conditions such as epilepsy, neurodegeneration, and traumatic brain injury.
