Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CPT-054 is a preclinical-stage small molecule developed by Mercaptor Discoveries for the treatment of traumatic brain injury (TBI). It acts as an antagonist of the Angiotensin II receptor type 1 (AGTR1). The drug is developed using Mercaptor's proprietary "Captor" platform, which focuses on creating site-activated therapeutics that remain inactive until they reach the specific biochemical environment of injured tissue, such as areas of high oxidative stress. By targeting AGTR1 specifically at the site of brain trauma, CPT-054 is designed to mitigate neuroinflammation and the secondary injury cascade while minimizing systemic side effects typically associated with broad angiotensin receptor blockade.
