CPT-513 is a preclinical-stage molecular glue degrader developed by Captor Therapeutics. It is designed to induce the targeted degradation of NIMA-related kinase 7 (NEK7), a protein essential for the assembly and activation of the NLRP3 inflammasome. By eliminating NEK7, CPT-513 prevents the activation of the inflammasome and the subsequent release of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as IL-1β and IL-18. This approach is being investigated for the treatment of a broad range of inflammatory and autoimmune diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, and psoriasis, as well as neurodegenerative conditions like amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and Huntington's disease where neuroinflammation plays a critical role.
