CPX102 is a long-acting peptide-based fusion inhibitor developed by Hangzhou Xianweida Biotechnology (also known as Sciwind Biosciences) for the treatment and prevention of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infection. The drug is designed to target the RSV fusion (F) protein, a critical component that mediates the entry of the virus into host cells by facilitating the fusion of the viral envelope with the host cell membrane. By binding to the F protein, CPX102 prevents the conformational changes necessary for this fusion process, thereby effectively blocking viral infection. Engineered with an extended half-life using Sciwind's proprietary peptide optimization platform, CPX102 is intended to provide a potent and convenient therapeutic or prophylactic option with a reduced frequency of administration. It is currently being evaluated in early-stage clinical trials to assess its safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetic profile in humans.
