Overview

CQ-07001 is a potent and selective small molecule inhibitor of Ubiquitin-Specific Protease 7 (USP7), a deubiquitinating enzyme that plays a critical role in regulating the stability of key proteins involved in tumor suppression and immune evasion. Developed by CureQuest Bioscience, CQ-07001 works by inhibiting the USP7-mediated deubiquitination of MDM2, leading to MDM2 degradation and the subsequent stabilization and activation of the p53 tumor suppressor protein. Additionally, USP7 inhibition has been shown to modulate the immune microenvironment by reducing the stability of FOXP3 in regulatory T cells (Tregs), thereby enhancing anti-tumor immune responses. The drug is primarily being investigated for the treatment of various solid tumors and hematological malignancies, particularly those where the p53 pathway is suppressed but not mutated.
