Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CQR-300 is a patented, standardized extract of the plant *Cissus quadrangularis*, traditionally used in Indian and African medicine. It is primarily developed as a multifunctional dietary supplement ingredient for weight management, metabolic wellness, and cardiovascular health. Clinical studies have shown that daily administration of 300 mg can significantly reduce body weight, body fat, waist-to-hip ratio, blood pressure (systolic and diastolic), total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, triglycerides, fasting blood glucose levels while increasing HDL-cholesterol and serotonin levels in overweight or obese individuals[4][5][6][7][8]. The mechanism of action includes inhibition of digestive enzymes (pancreatic lipase, alpha-amylase, alpha-glucosidase), upregulation of phospho-AMPK activity in adipose tissue (reducing adipogenesis/lipogenesis gene expression), enhancement of GLP-1 secretion and DPP-4 inhibition (potentially improving satiety/appetite control), antioxidant effects via polyphenols/flavonoids/stilbenes content[3][4][10]. It also contains naturally occurring phytosterols as well as vitamins A and C[9]. CQR-300 is not an FDA-approved pharmaceutical but has GRAS status for use as a dietary supplement ingredient.
