CRD-1968099 is a first-in-class, orally available small molecule inhibitor that selectively targets GCN2 (also known as EIF2AK4), a serine/threonine protein kinase involved in sensing amino acid deficiency within cells. By inhibiting GCN2, CRD-1968099 induces RNA deregulation stress through the accumulation of aberrant tRNAs and may exhibit anti-tumor effects in preclinical models. The drug also has potential to enhance tumor immune responses by eliminating myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs), which normally suppress T cell-mediated anti-tumor immunity. Developed by Chordia Therapeutics, Inc., its primary indication is for neoplasms (cancers), and it is currently in preclinical development[1][2][4][7].
