CRD-4730

CRD-4730 is a novel, orally administered small molecule inhibitor of calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II (CaMKII). It is being developed by Cardurion Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia (CPVT), a rare genetic arrhythmia disorder characterized by abnormal heart rhythms triggered by physical activity or emotional stress. The drug represents a new molecular entity and offers a mechanistically distinct approach compared to current standard therapies such as β-blockers and implantable cardioverter-defibrillators. As of mid-2025, it is in Phase 2 clinical trials evaluating its safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics in adults with genetically confirmed CPVT[2][3][4][7].
