CRE-DR-H is a humanized monoclonal antibody developed as a potential therapeutic for IgE-mediated allergic diseases and IgE-producing malignancies. It is derived from the mouse monoclonal antibody CRE-DR and specifically targets the elbow region of the CH3 domain of immunoglobulin E (IgE). The antibody is designed to selectively bind to membrane-bound IgE (mIgE) on the surface of B cells rather than circulating IgE or IgE already bound to high-affinity receptors on mast cells and basophils. By targeting mIgE, CRE-DR-H suppresses the proliferation of IgE-producing B cells and inhibits the secretion of IgE. Preclinical studies using the U266B1 human myeloma cell line have demonstrated its ability to significantly reduce cell viability and IgE production.
