Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**CREATe-1** is an early-research, small-molecule-controlled chemogenetic gene-therapy program originating at VRG Therapeutics and advanced through its spinout CREATe Therapeutics. The program is designed to express proprietary engineered chemogenetic receptors in selected neuronal populations; these receptors are intended to remain inactive without an actuator and to be selectively activated by a matching exogenous small molecule. This approach aims to provide adjustable, circuit-specific neuromodulation for severe central nervous system disorders, including treatment-resistant focal epilepsy, neuropathic pain, cataplexy, Parkinson's disease, and Tourette's syndrome.
