CreaVax-HCC is an autologous dendritic cell-based immunotherapy developed by JW CreaGene for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The therapy utilizes the company's proprietary Cell-Transducing Protein (CTP) technology to efficiently load patient-derived dendritic cells with tumor-associated antigens. Once matured and re-injected into the patient, these dendritic cells activate cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs) to specifically target and eliminate residual cancer cells. It is primarily developed as an adjuvant treatment to prevent post-operative recurrence in patients who have undergone curative treatments such as surgical resection or radiofrequency ablation. The product has completed Phase 3 clinical trials in South Korea, demonstrating efficacy in reducing the risk of recurrence following curative therapy.
