CreaVax-PC is an autologous dendritic cell-based cancer vaccine developed by JW CreaGene, often studied in collaboration with clinical centers such as Samsung Medical Center. The therapy is produced by harvesting a patient's own monocytes, which are then differentiated into dendritic cells ex vivo. These cells are matured and pulsed with prostate cancer-specific antigens and Keyhole Limpet Hemocyanin (KLH), which acts as an immunogenic carrier and adjuvant. Upon re-administration to the patient, these activated dendritic cells present the tumor antigens to the immune system, specifically inducing a T-cell mediated response (cytotoxic T lymphocytes) designed to target and destroy metastatic prostate cancer cells. It is primarily developed for patients with hormone-refractory metastatic prostate cancer (HRMPC) who have experienced PSA relapse.
