Overview

Crebankitug is a fully human monoclonal antibody that targets the interleukin-7 receptor alpha subunit (IL-7Rα). By binding to IL-7Rα, crebankitug inhibits signaling through both the IL-7 and thymic stromal lymphopoietin (TSLP) pathways, which are central to T-cell homeostasis and Th2 immune responses. This dual inhibition has potential therapeutic applications in a range of autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, particularly those mediated by T cells or involving barrier tissues such as skin and gut. Crebankitug was originally developed by Pfizer and is now being advanced by Zura Bio under an exclusive worldwide license. It has demonstrated favorable safety in early clinical studies, with most adverse events being mild or moderate[1][6]. The drug is currently in clinical development for atopic dermatitis, ulcerative colitis, multiple sclerosis, type 1 diabetes mellitus, alopecia areata, and other immunological disorders[1][2][6].
