Cremin Complex

Cremin Complex is a combination pharmaceutical preparation developed by Shanghai Sixth People's Hospital for the treatment of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). The formulation consists of clemastine, an H1-receptor antagonist, along with vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) and glutamic acid. Clemastine is included for its sedative properties and its ability to cross the blood-brain barrier, which was historically utilized in China to manage symptoms of hyperactivity and impulsivity in pediatric patients. Vitamin B6 acts as a cofactor in the synthesis of essential neurotransmitters such as dopamine, serotonin, and GABA, while glutamic acid serves as a metabolic support for brain function. Although once a common hospital-made preparation (医院制剂) in Shanghai during the late 20th century, its use has largely been superseded by more targeted ADHD medications like methylphenidate and atomoxetine.
