Creon Micro

**Creon Micro** is a brand name for an enteric-coated granule formulation of porcine pancreatic extract (pancreatin), containing lipase (5,000 Ph.Eur. units), amylase (3,600 Ph.Eur. units), and protease (200 Ph.Eur. units) per 100 mg dosing unit. It is designed as pancreatic enzyme replacement therapy (PERT) for pancreatic exocrine insufficiency (PEI), aiding digestion of fats, proteins, and carbohydrates in patients with conditions such as cystic fibrosis, chronic pancreatitis, pancreatic surgery, or gastrointestinal bypass. The minimicrospheres mix with food in the stomach, resist gastric acid due to enteric coating, and release enzymes in the duodenum (pH >5.5) to hydrolyze nutrients, improving absorption, reducing symptoms like steatorrhea, diarrhea, bloating, and malnutrition.[1][2][3][7]
