Crespine is a sterile, viscoelastic intra-articular implant composed primarily of crosslinked hyaluronic acid. It is designed for single-use injection into joints affected by osteoarthritis—most commonly the knee and hip—to supplement or replace synovial fluid. The mechanism of action involves restoring joint lubrication and cushioning by mimicking natural synovial fluid properties, thereby reducing pain and improving mobility in patients with mild to moderate osteoarthritis. Some formulations (such as Crespine Gel Plus) also include prilocaine hydrochloride as a local anesthetic to reduce injection discomfort. The product uses non-animal-based hyaluronic acid to minimize allergic reactions and is intended for patients who have not responded adequately to oral medications or conservative therapies[1][2][3][4][5][6][7].
