Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Crespine Plus is an intra-articular injectable gel indicated for the treatment of pain and reduced mobility in joints affected by osteoarthritis, particularly the knee and hip. It is a combination product consisting of highly purified, cross-linked sodium hyaluronate and the local anesthetic prilocaine hydrochloride. The hyaluronic acid component is produced using proprietary CRM (Cross-linked Reticulated Matrix) technology, which creates a high-viscosity, biocompatible gel that acts as a lubricant and shock absorber within the joint to restore synovial fluid properties. The addition of prilocaine provides immediate local anesthesia, significantly reducing the pain associated with the injection process. Developed by BioPolymer GmbH & Co. KG, Crespine Plus is typically administered as a single-dose treatment and is classified as a medical device in many jurisdictions, including the European Union (CE marked).
