Overview

Cretan IAMA is a botanical combination product consisting of essential oil extracts from three Mediterranean aromatic plants: *Coridothymus capitatus* (Spanish oregano/thyme), *Origanum dictamnus* (Cretan dittany), and *Salvia fruticosa* (Greek sage), dissolved in extra-virgin olive oil. Developed by Olvos Science SA (a subsidiary of Galenica), it is indicated for the management of upper respiratory tract infections (URTI), including those caused by influenza A (H1N1), influenza B, and human rhinovirus. The drug's mechanism of action involves interfering with the trafficking of the influenza A Nucleoprotein (NP) and reducing systemic inflammatory markers such as C-reactive protein (CRP). Clinical studies have demonstrated its efficacy in reducing the duration and severity of URTI symptoms and decreasing systemic inflammation.
