Overview

CRG-002 is an investigational cell therapy product consisting of allogeneic induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived pancreatic islet cells. Developed by Celregen Therapeutics, a Shanghai-based regenerative medicine company incubated by Fosun Health Capital, CRG-002 is designed to restore glycemic control in patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) or pancreatogenic diabetes mellitus. The therapy specifically targets patients experiencing hypoglycemia unawareness or severe hypoglycemic events by replacing or supplementing the function of endogenous pancreatic islet cells. CRG-002 is administered via intraportal infusion or implantation beneath the anterior rectus sheath and is currently undergoing evaluation in early-phase clinical trials to assess its safety and preliminary efficacy.
