Overview

Crila is an approved herbal pharmaceutical developed by ThienDuocPharma for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and uterine fibroids. It is formulated from bioactive alkaloids extracted from a proprietary cultivar of the Vietnamese herb *Crinum latifolium* (specifically *Crinum latifolium* L. var. *crilae* Tram & Khanh). The extract contains various phytochemicals, including amaryllidaceae alkaloids and crinamidine-like compounds, which exhibit anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory, and tumor-inhibiting properties without estrogenic activity. Crila was approved for circulation in Vietnam by the Drug Administration of Vietnam in 2005 for BPH and in 2007 for uterine fibroids, and is also distributed internationally as a dietary supplement.
