Overview

Crinumin is a protein identified as an anti-platelet and anti-inflammatory agent. Preclinical studies in rats have demonstrated its ability to significantly reduce carrageenan-induced paw oedema and cotton pellet-induced granuloma formation. Its mechanism involves decreasing the expression of P-selectin, which contributes to reduced platelet activation, and inhibiting NF-κB expression, thereby exerting its anti-inflammatory effects. These findings suggest a potential therapeutic role for crinumin in conditions involving inflammation and platelet aggregation, such as atherosclerosis.
